USED 16" BIG HORN TRAIL & PLEASURE SADDLE - $850 (includes shipping)

This is a top of the line saddle retailing for over $1200.  Big Horn Model #1655.  Two outstanding features of this deluxe saddle are the FLEXIBLE Tree and the DENSE FOAM Seat!  Superior comfort for you and your horse.  This saddle is built on a FQHB, so has a generous gullet of 7". It will fit the wider backed horses and those with more muttony withers or just your good sturdy mount. Best of all the tree flexes with your horse so he is happy to go all day. The seat measures 16" and is deeply padded with a special material which will retain its shape. No need for a sheepskin seat cover on this beauty. Approximate weight is 31 lbs. Overall skirt length is 26.5".  Saddle is all superior quality brown leather with border tooling all around. Pre-turned stirrups. Smooth leather darker brown seat. It has plenty of long leather strings for tying on all your bags. Has strong brass rings including a crupper ring. Heavy duty double rigging rings for your front rigging and in-skirt rigging for back cinch (not included).  This is a used saddle with a couple scuffs/scratches associated with normal use. Fleece shows very little wear. It has never been oiled and the leather is wonderful with no curling, etc. Nicely broke in and ready to ride.  This saddle is a 100% sound, built to last saddle.  Unfortunately the stirrup length on this saddle was cut shorter before I bought it, and is about an inch or two shorter than what I prefer it to be.  I have a 32" inseam and therefore I think this would fit people with inseams of about 30-31" or less.  It fits my husbands inseam, but unfortunately not his horse.

This is a QUALITY, HAND MADE saddle...NOT a production line brand!  Made in the USA, this saddle is built on a Steele brand, LT Equifit tree.  The LT equifit tree has gaited horse bars offering more flare at the shoulder to encourage freedom of movement, and a 7¼" bare tree gullet width, and a 6¾" finished saddle gullet width.  Has nice foam padded 16" leather covered seat.  I have pre-turned the stirrups. Has brass hardware with lots of rings and strings, and dees. It has beautiful acorn/leaf tooling...just enough to dress it up a little without it being "too much", making it suitable for man or woman.  Also features a "female friendly" seat, but works great for men too!  Has an "A Fork" pommel.  5" cantle.  Skirt approximately 25½" long.  Tooled leather wrapped stirrups have an inside measurement at the widest part of 4½" outside widest is 5¾". Takes 2¼" stirrup leather width. Genuine sheepskin lined.  Weighs approximately 28 pounds.  Manufacture date of 7/7/11 stamped on latigo keeper. Has a few dents/dings and scratches associated with normal use/wear. USED 16" CREST RIDGE SONATA SR-05 LITE LEATHER/CORDURA COMBO GAITED HORSE SADDLE - $700 (includes shipping)

This is another QUALITY, HAND CRAFTED saddle...NOT a production line brand! Made in the USA, this saddle is an endurance style trail saddle suitable for gaited horses. With its superb balance and comfortable slightly deeper seat, the Sonata SR-05 is ideal for trail, endurance, or everyday pleasure riding. Overall design allows for a more natural line from hip to heel, giving a more centered ride position. Wide (7") gullet, 5" cantle, skirt approximately 25". Leather bell shaped stirrups measure 5½" at widest point on inside, and about 6¼" to the widest outside measurement. Fits 3" stirrup strap. Multiple rings and leather ties for convenience.
